SNEWS reported yesterday that the new Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show was confirmed for Denver, Colorado, next January, according to SIA President Nick Sargent. But a statement issued today by Outdoor Retailer implies the deal is not yet sealed.

“The process is confidential and we have not yet announced or confirmed specific show dates or locations for 2018, including the Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show, Outdoor Retailer Summer Market or our newly announced November show,” Outdoor Retailer said in the statement. “We appreciate the industry’s patience and consideration as we take the necessary steps to address concerns around labor, drayage, hotel availability, exhibit space and other logistics.”

It’s unclear exactly when Outdoor Retailer will announce the new location of the show.

Sargent was unavailable for comment Wednesday. Todd Walton, SIA’s director of communications and marketing, said it is anticipated that the first combined show will be held in Denver from Jan. 25 to 28, with an on-snow demo Jan. 29 and 30–a slight change from what was sent in an SIA newsletter on Tuesday.

“Until OR makes an unofficial announcement following the completion of the RFP process, nothing is set in stone,” Walton said.
