AmeriCares Thanks Industry Donors To Relief Efforts

Dear Members of the Outdoor Industry Association (ed. note: certainly many others who are not Outdoor Industry Association members responded as well and are to be commended equally),

It is a hectic Monday morning at AmeriCares, but I would like to take this moment to thank you and commend you on your response to our relief efforts in New York City. (click here to see AmeriCares request for donations)

Currently, AmeriCares is working directly with the New York City Fire Department, the National Guard, and the New York City Comptroller’s Office to deliver materials requested for the rescue workers. AmeriCares will continue to meet these needs over the coming months.

As an industry, you have come together and combined your resources in a tremendous response to this tragedy. Through your generous donations you have helped keep our heroes energized and hydrated with your energy bars/drinks, hydration systems, and water bottles. You have kept them warm and dry with rain gear and clothing. You have protected their hands and feet with steel-tipped boots and work gloves. You have provided them with shelter and a place to rest their weary bodies with your donations of tents, mattress pads, and camping chairs. You have provided their surviving families with some security through a financial contribution. You have given them a light in their darkness. You have shown them compassion.

As an industry you are to be commended for your rapid response and generosity. AmeriCares thanks you, as do the many men and women who’ve received your products.
