BioLite LLC, an innovator in energy solutions, announced today that the BioLite CampStove has been awarded a 2013 Climbing Magazine Editors’ Choice Award. The awards recognize the most innovative, useful and top-performing products in the climbing world.
“When making our selections for this award, we looked at which products rose to the top over a year’s worth of testing and abuse; which were the ones we don’t leave home without and can’t stop telling our friends about,” says Shannon Davis, Editor in Chief of Climbing.
“The BioLite CampStove is that product. We brought it to one of our favorite crags in Colorado for a final testing smackdown. It warmed our hands, boiled pot after pot of water for hot drinks and charged our gadgets so we could rock out to Gorillaz and scout the next day’s routes online. In other words, it enhanced our experience of the climbing world.”
“When it come to gear, climbers have incredibly high standards and they take their choices seriously,” says BioLite CEO Jonathan Cedar. “We are honored to be recognized by the experts at Climbing Magazine, and to know that they consider our CampStove to be a climbing essential.”
The BioLite CampStove is a compact wood-burning cookstove that uses thermoelectric technology to convert heat into electricity. Relying on found biomass such as twigs or pinecones, the CampStove provides an ultra-efficient fire while allowing users to charge small devices via a USB-port.
