Women’s outdoor apparel maker Isis is moving its headquarters from Burlington, Vt. to Boulder, Colo., the company’s owner American Rec announced late Thursday.
Isis’ former owner, co-founder and current president Carolyn Cooke plans to depart the company upon completion of the move.
In its press release, American Rec officials said the move will allow Isis to grow by taking advantage of the parent company’s established presence in Boulder, including its product development, marketing department, and management team. American Rec already bases its Sierra Designs, Kelty and Slumberjack outdoor brands in the Boulder area.
American Rec acquired Isis from Cooke and private investors in January 2010, shortly after Isis’ other co-founder Poppy Gall left the company in October 2009. Cooke and Gall founded the Isis in 1998.
