Thule Group announced a product recall today in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for certain models of its Tepui Hybox line. The models affected are as follows.
- Tepui Hybox rooftop tent (product numbers: 8001HB103, 8001HB112)

- Thule Tepui HyBox Wedge rooftop tent (Product number: 901110)
The company specified that only products manufactured between January 1, 2018, and April 28, 2021, are being recalled.
The cause for the recall is an unspecified defect that, when exposed to certain environmental and driving conditions, might cause the tents to become detached from a vehicle’s roof.
“At the Thule Group we take quality very seriously, and product safety is our top priority,” the company said in a statement, which urged customers to “immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Thule Group to arrange for the return of the rooftop tent and register for a refund or a replacement rooftop tent, free of charge.”
