SNEWS® Live: A great institution of mountain culture opened to the general public in February 2008. The Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum was dedicated on the grounds of the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colo. — the first national museum dedicated to mountains and mountaineering in the United States.

Named in memory of the world-renowned photographer and climber Bradford Washburn, the museum now houses some of the great images and artifacts of climbing throughout history, as well as one of the world’s largest mountaineering research libraries.

During the annual meeting of the American Alpine Club, climbers of the modern era gathered in Golden to visit this wonderful monument to mountaineering. SNEWS® Live® was on the scene to bring you this guided tour – complete with visuals.
