Cobra Kayak and Ocean Kayak, round two

Cobra Kayaks and Ocean Kayak are engaged in what might become one of the longest running legal ping-pong games we’ve witnessed in years. As you may recall only a few weeks ago, one District Court judge ruled that two Cobra Kayak models “indisputably infringe” upon an Ocean Kayak patent sending the Ocean Kayak press release machine into high gear. But hold on: Cobra has found an Oregon judge who has now ruled that Cobra may appeal the first ruling…or something like that. Cobra is reportedly “thrilled.” SNEWS View: The only thing we feel is definite about this battle now is that it is the lawyers on both sides who are really, really thrilled.
