Give your tastebuds a surprise with GU’s newest flavor, derived from a key ingredient in beer: hops. It’s a savory pivot from the sweet birthday cake and toasted marshmallow flavors of the recent past. GU is hoping that those who like beer or already incorporate beer into their outdoor activities, such as cyclists, will dig it.
“Have a beer before you get to the finish line,” GU’s German Martinez said.

The special flavor won’t be available for retail until March, but when it is, it’ll be sold in boxes as well as bundled as a 6-pack in a Klean Kanteen stainless steel pint glass.
