Chris Sword to lead Pearl Izumi

Sword, former president of Oberalp North America, will replace former Pearl Izumi president Mike O’Connor.

Pearl Izumi has announced that Chris Sword will succeed Mike O’Connor as president. O’Connor retired in December. Sword spent the past nine years as president of Oberalp North America, which owns Dynafit, Salewa, Wild Country, and Pomoca.
“He is a product and brand expert with extensive international business experience, which is a critical requirement for the job,” Pearl Izumi said in a press release Monday afternoon. “He brings a unique combination of success working for both Fortune 500 companies and small startups, as well as extensive experience in the apparel and footwear categories.”
Sword said in the press release that he is “honored” by the opportunity to join Pearl Izumi’s team.“The chance to match my love of business and cycling with a brand that shares these passions is a unique and exciting opportunity. I’m thrilled to being work with this talented team and start the next chapter for Pearl Izumi.”
