Adidas-Salomon says it intends to continue production of footwear and apparel in Argentina, despite the company’s failure to arrive at a new licensing agreement with Gatic. Gatic had been Adidas-Salomon’s license partner for 30 years. The company announced they would continue footwear and apparel production with a variety of local suppliers. In related news, Adidas-Salomon also announced that they have completed the acquisition of its subsidiary in Italy from Colombos, an Italian family of entrepreneurs. With the purchase, Adidas-Salomon is now represented by wholly owned subsidiaries in all major European markets. Adidas Italy will remain based in Monza, the company said.
