Did you hear?… AOP enters into distribution agreement with Peregrine Outfitters

American Outdoor Products has entered into a distribution agreement with Peregrine Outfitters, the company announced Oct. 18. Under the terms of the agreement, Peregrine will begin distributing the American Outdoor Products (AOP) Backpacker Pantry line — which includes Backpacker’s Pantry food, Evolution Cookware, and the Outback Oven — to North American retailers beginning in January 2002. SNEWS® View: AOP, which sells a number of brands including Backpacker’s Pantry, PlanetaryGear, Salamander Paddle Sports, Astronaut Foods, and Colorado Spice, is clearly viewing this move to Peregrine as the best means to expand its retail base. For its part, Peregrine has just garnered another big name in freeze-dried food, Backpacker’s Pantry, to add to an offering that includes Alpineaire, Mountain House, Richmoor, and PowerBar.
