Artisan Gear, a Middlebury, Vt.-based company offering hemp bags, luggage and accessories since 1989, has been sold to the owners of the Oregon-based plant that actually makes the bags. Original owners Netaka White and Claire Artis will remain involved with the company for the time being. Artisan’s Web site, www.artisangear.com, is currently down during the ownership transition.
