Did you hear?… Atomic, BD, Nike and Suunto receive Good Design award

Atomic, Black Diamond, Nike and Suunto have each been honored with a Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design Good Design award. Atomic received an award for its Atomic Beta Ride 11.20 ski. Black Diamond received an award for its mountaineering helmet. Nike for the Triax 300 running watches. Suunto for both the Escape 203 altimeter / barometer watch and the Observer altimeter / barometer / compass watch. Outdoor designs dominated the sports award given this year and received 5 of 100 awards from over 2000 submissions from 40 countries in 2001. The ski, helmet, and watches are now part of the museum’s permanent design collection as a result. The Good Design award is considered by designers to be the most prestigious award program recognizing innovative product thinking and design.
