A study released Oct. 23 by IDC, an e-business and technology firm, states that international B2B e-commerce is “expected to experience a 76-percent year-to-year growth from 2000 to 2005.” The study predicts that B2B e-commerce will account for 86 percent of the worldwide e-commerce opportunity and that non-U.S. spending in this arena will jump to $2.8 trillion and represent over 60 percent of the worldwide B2B market opportunity. The study also predicts that the fastest growing international markets will be Western Europe at $1.5 trillion and Asia/Pacific at $516.3 billion. The U.S. share of worldwide B2B e-commerce will drop to 36 percent as compared with 41 percent in 2000. For more information, click on www.idc.com.
