According to a release from IHRSA, which signs up all kinds of companies for tasting, sampling and giveaways at its member clubs, Dunkin’ Donuts will be making the rounds as a part of consumer sampling program. No, there won’t be donuts to be had (although you know there’ll be coupons and other incentives to your local donut purveyor). Instead, to be had will be a new fat-free beverage called Latte Lite that “allows health conscious consumers to enjoy a great tasting latte without feeling weighed down.” The promotion will be at some 200 clubs in the Northeast where the Dunkin’ chain is on about every corner. Is buying a Latte Lite with a few glazed and filled donuts the same as getting a no-calorie soda with a huge dessert? Maybe the promo table at the events should include the nutritional information for ALL the store’s products (click here to get that) to make sure club members with good intentions don’t round out their Latte Lite with a heapin’ helpin’ of fat, trans fat, saturated fat and sugar.
