Eagle Creek is doing a two-step and a shuffle with its European operations. Ricky Schlesinger, executive vice president for Eagle Creek, told SNEWS®: “We are restructuring our European operation for 2002. We are closing our Bochum (Germany) office.” With that, the company will disperse operations as follows: Cascade Designs has been contracted to handle customer service and administration at its headquarters in Ireland, where staff can speak six languages. Inventory and shipping will be done out of a third-party warehouse in Belgium. Sales and marketing will be run from Eagle Creek’s office in Southern Germany by Thomas Ryll, who currently runs sales and marketing for the company. Adds Schlesinger, “We are very excited about this new arrangement because we will be enhancing our capabilities for service immediately, and we’ll become a more pan-European company, all without a bigger overhead structure.”
