Did you hear?… Galen and Barbara Rowell killed in plane crash

The SNEWS® team was deeply saddened to learn that famed outdoor photographer Galen Rowell (61), and his photographer/writer wife, Barbara, were killed early Sunday morning as their chartered twin-engine plane crashed two miles from the Bishop, Calif. airport. The Rowell’s were returning from a photography workshop in Alaska. Also killed were the pilot and the plane’s owner, Tom Reid, and Carol McAfee, a Bishop resident. Cause of the crash is under investigation.
