Isis, maker women’s outdoor apparel, has won the ispo DuPont BrandNew Women Award for Winter 2002. The ispo DuPont BrandNew Awards are for “young, imaginative, future-oriented and usable brands” and products in the sports sector. Isis was chosen by nine international members of the ispo Dupont BrandNew panel for its creativity, innovation, marketing and design within the women’s sportswear category. All category winners — selected from 102 entries from 21 countries, or more than a third more than in Summer receive free booth space at ispo, the world’s largest trade fair for sporting equipment and fashion in Munich, Germany, as well as marketing support and media exposure through press conferences and special show events. The awards will be presented to companies at the opening gala at the ispo trade show on Feb. 2. “We are pleased and honored to be recognized in such a significant way for our commitment to building outdoor apparel specifically for women,” said Poppy Gall, co-founder with Carolyn Cooke of the 4-year-old brand. The only other U.S.-based winner was Thrill Sled Inc., which won the Kevlar Performance BrandNew award for its mountain sled.
