Johnson Outdoors last week eliminated 15 positions in its Watercraft division, and people holding 12 of those positions were assigned to other jobs within the company.

Cynthia Georgeson, vice president of worldwide communication for Johnson Outdoors, said the Watercraft reorganization was done “to ensure that we were staffed accordingly and appropriately in those areas that are strategic growth priorities.”

In June, the company eliminated 50 positions in its Binghamton, N.Y., facility (click here to read SNEWS® story), and in July reported that its fiscal third-quarter profit declined nearly 6 percent because of a weak U.S. economy and a soft domestic boat market (click here to read SNEWS story).
