Kelly Stone, director of sales at Cascade Designs Inc., since March 2000, has resigned effective July 1 to pursue travel opportunities and other personal interests. “I’ve had a dream for many years to take a break from my career. The time has come to fulfill this dream, and so I plan to take an extended period of time off to enjoy the outdoors and to be with my loved ones,” said Stone. “In the meantime, I am fully ‘on board’ as we prepare for our upcoming sales meetings in June and the Spring 2003 new product launch. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work at such a stellar company and with such amazing people.” President of Cascade Designs, Lee Fromson, said, “To say that Kelly will be missed is an understatement. She is a model of professionalism and has been instrumental in the growth and success of this company since she joined us in 1996. I can think of no better testament to her efforts than Cascade Designs recently being named REI’s 2001 Vendor of the Year. The door will always be open to Kelly if she chooses to return to this organization at a future date.” Fromson — whose motto he said is “Never a problem, always an opportunity” — has now created the position of Vice President, Outdoor Group, and The Forest Group is leading the search process. He said the company hopes to have that person on board by Stone’s departure, but would not hurry the search if it doesn’t find the right person by July 1. Schuyler Horton, East Coast Regional Sales Manager, will become interim director of sales if a replacement isn’t found by July.
