Mountain Hardwear has outgrown its current space and, as a result, signed a lease with Orton Development to rent part of the historic Ford Factory on the Richmond, Calif., waterfront as part of a significant community renovation project. The company will build out the 77,670-square-foot waterfront space to suit its needs. The folks at Mountain Hardwear said they hope to complete the move from the company’s current location on Central Avenue in Richmond to the new space by early 2008. In a printed statement issued to the local Bay Area press, Mike Wallenfels, president of Mountain Hardwear, stated: “We are very excited to remain in Richmond and to be part of this significant renovation project. It’s an ideal space for Mountain Hardwear and a spectacular location. The location will better represent the Mountain Hardwear brand and offer a better daily working environment for our employees.”
