Got a never-ending to-do list that you never quite get to the bottom of? You aren’t alone. When the Net Future Institute asked what happens to the bottom 10-20 percent of the tasks on executives’ and managers’ lists that aren’t completed over the course of the day, 44.2 percent respond that most or all of the tasks are moved forward and completed eventually. Only 6.5 percent maintain that most or all of the tasks are continually moved forward and not likely to be completed. When asked who handles the bottom 10 to 20 percent of the tasks on their lists that aren’t completed over the course of the day, nearly two-thirds say they do most of them. Some respondents write that if a task is truly important, it will rise to the top eventually. If it doesn’t, it should be eliminated.
