One of the exhibit halls at Germany’s international trade show 2002 Winter ispo will be one big snow-covered half-pipe. More than 3,230 square feet (300 square meters) (300 square meters) of snow will be hauled in and piled up to the ceiling to transform Hall A1 into a winter world for snowboarders during the show Feb. 2-5. International snowboarders, professionals, and rookies will have the chance to compete in various levels of contests during the “ispo Flow Invitational,” including a women’s “Quarterpipe Challenge” for pros, as well as a men’s “Highest Air” competition. Rookies will also get their chance to square off. Ooooo, that could be, well, entertaining. In addition, at ispo, the show’s “On-Snow Demo” will be jointly taking place with buying group Interport’s “Ski Test” days. The testing days will take place continuously from Feb. 5-9 in Oberstdorf, Sonthofen and in Am Fellhorn, or immediately following ispo 2002 and will therefore be Europe’s largest winter product-testing event.
