After 12 years with Adventure 16, store manager Rob Andersen, walked away today from his job for the last time. In a message to friends and shared with SNEWS® , Andersen said, “Almost a third of my life has been spent enjoying the outdoor industry through one of the most respected outfitters in the marketplace. I have a rare opportunity to take some time off and spend the summer enjoying my family. Carly (8) and Jackson (3) are at an age where they still actually want to spend time with their Dad, so we’re gonna pitch a tent somewhere and make sure the sun comes up and goes down as planned. I also wanted to publicly acknowledge my incredible wife, Won. She has been a huge support throughout my entire career and is the reason I get this opportunity to take a break and find new paths. The friends and peers that I have built relationships with along the way have been the most satisfying aspect of this journey. The vendors, reps and industry leaders I have had the opportunity to work with are the reason people stay in this business.” SNEWS® View: Another industry veteran is leaving the job for the same reason — family. There’s not a better reason in this world, though the greater family of outdoor industry veterans will miss each and every one that decides to move on and out. We wish Rob well and trust we’ll run into him somewhere down the trail.
