Royal Robbins has reached an agreement with the National Audubon Society to create a partnership for licensed outdoor/travel apparel. As part of the licensing agreement, Royal Robbins has designated key products, including a new birder’s vest, that will be available for special purchase with an Audubon embroidered logo. Audubon will provide exclusivity to Royal Robbins for all licensing in the apparel category. Under the terms of the agreement Audubon and Royal Robbins will work closely together on various marketing initiatives and co-branding efforts to support the partnership. In addition to an eight-page catalog that will be inserted into the fall 2002 issue of Audubon magazine, consumers will also be able to purchase licensed items at select outdoor retail locations in the future. In related news, Tom Cassidy has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for Royal Robbins outdoor and travel clothing company effective this month. Cassidy has been at Nike for 22 years.
