Corporations and celebrities will join to compete in a ski fest sponsored by Peregrine Systems on March 9 to raise money for the Special Olympics. The Corporate Ski Challenge raises funds to underwrite the Northern California Special Olympics annual games a week later at Kirkwood Ski Resort. Last year, the event raised $500,000. The Ski Challenge brings together Bay Area companies, Hollywood celebrities, and Special Olympics athletes in head-to-head matches on a giant slalom course. Each company has paid $20,000 and committed seven employee-, client-, or vendor-skiers to compete. Each corporate team includes a Special Olympics advanced alpine ski athlete and a celebrity. A team of celebrity skiers will also compete against the corporate teams.
