The Sports Product of the Year competition continues this year, organized by Sports Edge magazine which is now operating independently of SGMA. With 30 semi-finalists revealed, fitness per usual sets the pace.
Of the 30 vying for top spot, from the equipment sector, you’ll find the Horizon Fitness wireless pedometer treadmill, the Inspire/Health in Motion home gym, the Keys Center G elliptical, the Nautilus Bowflex Revolution home gym, the Precor s323 functional trainer, a Nautilus treadmill, the Hoist Ab/Back folding bench, and the SportsArt Xtrainer. In addition, you’ll find the BodyRev PT Metrics trainer, a number of sports bras (Joy in Motion, Wacoal CW-X, Heatgear/Under Armour, and Textronics, with the last one accommodating a heart rate monitor transmitter). New Balance has a running shoe included. The rest of the slate is filled out with bags, balls, helmets, games and other sporting goods gear. Want to take a look and cast a vote? Although Sports Edge is no longer a property of SGMA, the semi-finalists will be showcased at the coming (and last) Super Show, with many on videotape since there were so many large pieces of equipment. SGMA continues to help with promotion of the award and provide a venue where buyers can vote. The media votes on the finalists in the spring.
