Skiwear company Spyder Active Sports Inc. has announced European promotions and a restructuring of overseas offices. Cees DeWitte, formerly vice president of Spyder-Europe, has been promoted to general manager of Spyder-Europe. Additionally, Spyder has consolidated its customer service units to the Spyder-Europe office in Zug, Switzerland. John Walbrecht, president of Spyder-Europe and vice president of global sales and marketing, pointed to the company’s strong sales and forecast as the impetus to refocus the European branch office. He said that worldwide, Spyder sales are up nearly 20 percent for the fiscal year 2001-2002, which reflected a revenue increase of close to 250 percent and unit increases of more than 200 percent since 1998. Looking forward, he said he expected the trend to last, as Spyder’s sales bookings for the 2002-2003 season increased more than 20 percent worldwide.
