The Balance Bar 24-Hour Adventure Race has expanded for 2002 to include five events in five cities between May and November. Now run by Octagon under the guidance of Michael Epstein since Octagon purchased MESP Productions last year, the 24-Hour race will include Phoenix, Ariz. (May 4-5); Portland (Hood River), Ore. (July 20-21); Boston, Mass. (Aug. 24-25); New York (Oct. 5-6); and Los Angeles, Calif. (Nov. 16-17). For details, go to www.balancebar24hour.com. Sponsors also include Hi-Tec and Cobra Kayaks.
