The reduction in price by W.L. Gore for its Classic 3-layer Gore-Tex product has left suppliers in the United Kingdom satisfied, with several noting sales increases, sources told SNEWS®. Leading suppliers have said they were “extremely pleased” with the results of the price reductions. One major retailer there said sales had been, “Very, very good indeed. Well above original expectations.” Gore is now planning to reduce prices on its PacLite for 2003 delivery in the U.K., with retail prices of new garments expected to fall between 130 and 150 GBP ($186-214 USD).
