Longtime textile industry figure Thomas O’Gorman has passed away. He was 67. Mr. O’Gorman worked at Miliken Mills and at Greenwood Mills before becoming the owner of Glenoit Mills. At Greenwood, he developed 60/40 cloth, which was an outdoor industry staple fabric from the late ’60s through the late ’70s.At Genoit, he pioneered micro berber piles. Longtime friend and former employee, Doug Hoschek says of O’Gorman: “He was a man loved and adored by those closest to him and was noted for his kindness to those of us who were blessed to work with him in the outdoor textile industry.”
