ThorLo paid tribute to its 40th anniversary of producing socks today with a one-hour stoppage in production and operations to allow all company employees to take part in the celebration. Company president Jim Throneburg’s parents started making socks in 1952, forming the ThorLo company in 1962. Today ThorLo socks are designed for multiple outdoor, snow, sport, and lifestyle purposes and come in over 50 styles, still using much of the same patented design and production technology originated by Throneburg almost 40 years ago.
