A one-stop shop for a variety of educational seminars will be offered in conjunction with the Club Industry show in Chicago in October, covering corporate wellness, digital fitness and nutrition, and “inclusive” fitness.
Organized by Stonehearth Fitness, the conference program will supplement sessions by Club Industry on other topics from leadership to programming.
The three tracks running from Oct. 15-18 are intended to satisfy the need and desire for more learning at shows, said Stonehearth founder Marc Onigman.
“People are looking for more education in one place,” he told SNEWS®. “It speaks to the professionalization of the industry.
“If you can go to one place and find out more about something other than selling, it’s a good thing,” he added.
➢ The digital fitness and nutrition track is the first conference just for practitioners in this area to learn more about digital technology that could affect their businesses. Topics include using technology to motivate employees and the economic impact of disease management with e-Health technology.
➢ The inclusive fitness track, offered in conjunction with the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability, will help attendees learn more about creating and executing a plan of action to make a facility accessible to everyone. Topics will focus on reaching out to those with disabilities or chronic conditions with sessions on, for example, research as well as facility accessibility.
➢ The corporate fitness and wellness segment will take a deeper look at broadening a facility’s contact with the growing corporate wellness arena. Topics will include facility planning and nutrition intervention.
In addition, the Club Industry show will have exhibitors that relate to each of these tracks.
