Tom Andrews has resigned as national sales manager from Watermark Gear and has begun working for TracRac — www.tracrac.com. Duncan Robins, president of Watermark Gear, told SNEWS®, “Tom’s departure is all very friendly and we wish him nothing but the very best and are excited for him for what he has chosen to do.” Robins also told us that finding a replacement for Andrews will be challenging simply because the company will be seeking to replace, essentially, a member of a closely-knit family. Andrews told us leaving was one of the most difficult things he has wrestled with. In the end, he said, the opportunity to move to the East coast as well as to work for a small, talented company as part of a team was what won him over. SNEWS® View: TracRac, while a virtual unknown in the outdoor market, has a fantastic product that even sits in the back bed of one of the SNEWS® vehicles — perfect for toting boats, mountain bikes, lumber, etc. Mark our words — with Andrews on board, that company will grow its sales and it will reach into the outdoor world as consumers realize it’s a super rack for truck owners.
