If you witnessed folks trolling around the Outdoor Retailer show floor in possession of tiny, cute stuffed wild animals, you were witness to the unveiling of Woolrich’s joint venture with the Discovery Channel. Woolrich has designed a line it is dubbing “Discovery Channel Quest” that is full of features designer Paula Kosmatka told us are “typically found only on more expensive lines like The North Face, Ex Officio, Marmot, etc.” Details such as moving a shoulder seam forward so as to eliminate chaffing under a backpack strap, adding convertible sleeves and legs, adding venting, placing hidden pockets for travelers, and turning to fabrics that offer superior wicking as well as UV blocking are part of the new offering. The new line of clothing will be worn by the talent and staff of Discovery Channel Quest.
