Uncharted Supply Company is a young, Park City, Utah-based start-up and makers of the the Seventy2 Survival System. You may be familiar with the brand from the Season 9 premiere of Shark Tank, where we struck a deal with Robert Herjavec, or you might’ve seen our record-breaking crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
Now a serial adventurer and philanthropist, I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin where I learned how to navigate the environment, operate and repair vehicles, and handle animals from a very young age . When emergencies would strike our small community, my family would leverage our tractors, chainsaws and experience, to help dig out or clear a path for the neighbors.
My upbringing etched memories of being prepared for enduring the worst and always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. But, it was real life events that led to the creation of Uncharted and Seventy2—a 72-hour survival kit containing 35 top quality tools and instructions you need to survive in a hurricane, earthquake, or any emergency situation. It includes hand warmers, a water filter, goggles, glowsticks and a first-aid kit.
I actually had the vision for the survival kit while sitting in motionless traffic in Los Angeles after a light rain shower. I wondered: “If a light rain can stop traffic, what happens if an earthquake hits? Would I be prepared to not only help myself but those around me? Would the people around me be prepared?” I set out to develop a practical, easy-to-use pack with simple instructions so the everyday person could use, and ultimately survive an otherwise deadly situation.
My team and I are making emergency preparedness less doomsday and more approachable for the everyday person. Our brand has received rave reviews and experienced significant sales growth in its first year, along with financial support from investors who see the value and growth in Uncharted and the emergency preparedness industry.
