Elevator Pitches are written by the company and edited for space and clarity. They do not express the opinions of Outside Business Journal or its editors.

Ride the elevator with Casey Zaugg, Chief Truffle Officer at Trail Truffles.

For years, the trail food category has struggled with offering customers one fuel source that is portable and easy to consume, healthy, and tasty. Most products fall short and only check a box or two. After a negative experience several years ago with eating an energy bar to fuel during a 100K mountain bike event, I was determined to develop a “best of all worlds” fueling solution that checked all the boxes.

“Bars are cumbersome/not convenient” or “gels and gummies are just simple sugars” or “chocolate is delicious, but it melts” are all common complaints that largely go unresolved for trail users and nutritionally-focused consumers alike.

Stuffed with pea and rice protein minerals and enzymes, plus dates and cacao butter, and coated in a non-melting chocolate, Trail Truffles combine the decadence of a dark chocolate truffle with satiating ingredients. That makes them the perfect snack for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to fuel adventures, soccer moms needing healthful calories for kids, or jet-setters wanting a bite while on a flight. It is the perfect intersection of these characteristics, as well as the unique two-layer composition, that allow our energy bites to stand out in the market and we hope it will propel our rapid growth.

MSRP: $6.50 per pouch or $26 for four pouches
