Stretchmate is now operating independently, no longer a licensee of Life Fitness after three years. As SNEWS® covered earlier, Dave Courley, formerly of True Fitness, is now Octane’s commercial sales manager. Also added are Ken Germano, former CEO of the American Council on Exercise, who will be the new commercial sales manager for the West Coast and national accounts; and Daniel Kennedy, most recently of Precor, who will do the same for the East Coast and hospitality national accounts….

Precor gets press in the Business and Technology section of the Seattle Times, March 9, covering where the company has gone and where it’s going. Click here to read that report. In it, President Paul Byrne said “it is clear that people want to be entertained.”… The U.K’s Fitness Industry Association has established a new charitable trust, the Health and Fitness Foundation, to promote activities that encourage physical activity, including understanding the relationship between activity and health and raising awareness of career opportunities in the fitness and health area.
