A little musical chairs in April has affected several fitness industry veterans:
>> John Conti has joined Bodyguard in a newly created position as director of business development USA. He will also serve as territory manager for the Midwest and will lead development of dealer relationships nationwide, Bodyguard announced. Conti, who will be based in St. Louis, was the national retail sales manager for True Fitness until he and True parted ways in February 2006 when True shuffled a number of manager and warehouse positions.
Conti, with more than 15 years in the fitness industry, is regarded as a top sales and marketing expert with high respect for his motivation and communication skills. He can be reached toll-free at 866-311-6188 or by e-mail at john.conti@bodyguardfitness.com.
>> Steve Lindenau has moved to Diamondback Fitness, a division of Raleigh America, to run the company. In the role of president, Lindenau’s presence will allow Bill Austin, who has been running Diamondback Fitness as well as on the board of Raleigh, to step back from day-to-day business.
Lindenau was national sales manager for the last four years at Vision Fitness during a phase when Vision, a Johnson Health Tech company, grew exponentially as it still is. Previously, he had run the Trek bike office in Germany. He told SNEWS® he missed running his own business. “I love the opportunity of running my own company,” he said of his new role, adding, “I had a great time at Vision.”
He can be reached at Diamondback’s office in Camarillo in Southern California, at 800-776-7642 or by email at slindenau@raleighamerica.com.
>> In addition, Joanie Davidson, formerly a sales rep for Bodyguard, in February moved to Horizon Fitness as the Eastern Regional manager of sales.
