Michael Rivard, COO at True Fitness since late 2004, left the company in mid-March just prior to the IHRSA show to return to his former company, Energizer. Paul Gillstrom, who had been vice president of marketing, has moved into the COO positionâ€¦. Precor reorganized earlier this year into three divisions: commercial, consumer and entertainment & services. ClubCom still operates separately under President Tom Lapcevicâ€¦. The annual Nova7 product awards given out by Fitness Management went to: SportsArt Fitness for Best Cardio AND Best Product of the Year for 2005, Life Fitness/Hammer for Best Strength, Spri for Best Free Weights/Specialized, Mondo for Best Flooring, and Cardio Theater (Precor) for Best Entertainment/Accessoriesâ€¦. Star Trac CEO Steve Nero ran his first 26.2 the day before the IHRSA show at the Los Angeles Marathon. Nero, race number 18173 (that shows you how huge the field is there), managed a mighty respectable 4:34 to place 5,072nd overall â€“ the same week he benched 325 pounds for the first time.
