The Calgary Chamber of Commerce honored Louis Stack and his company, Fitter International Inc., as the city’s 2002 Small Business Owner of the Year this October. Today, Fitter employs more than 40 people and sells its balance and fitness products in 15 different countries. Upon receiving the award, Stack reflected on the key premise of his 17-year journey to this point, “If your neuromuscular awareness has been compromised, you need to develop that, in addition to range of motion exercises.” Stack, a former Canadian National Speed Skiing Team member, started Fitter in 1985 after having difficulties recovering from knee and foot surgery.
