Timberland has been recognized as one of two award winners of this year’s 2001 Annual Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards. The Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy, which annually recognizes philanthropic corporations that exhibit “exemplarily practices,” gave the nod to Timberland because of its community service program, The Path of Service. That program provides employees with up to 40 hour of paid time when they volunteer for service in their communities. Employees are also eligible to receive a six-month sabbatical to work for a non-profit organization. The other award winner this year was IBM.
