SNEWS® Live: Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts descended upon the quiet mountain town of Vail, Colo., for the 2007 Teva Mountain Games. Over five days, sports fans and eager participants enjoyed spirited competition in a series of action-packed contests of outdoor adventure skill. Athletes from across the United States and a few foreign countries battled it out, racing whitewater kayaks, scaling complex rock walls, riding steep mountain bike courses and running craggy trails. Top finishers split more than $100,000 in prize money. Plus, the leading pros in each sport received the coveted Everest Award — the outdoor recreation’s equivalent of an Oscar — for outstanding performances last year. SNEWS® Live was on the scene to bring you the highlights.
