After over a year without a permanent global brand president, Timberland has tapped a fashion industry veteran to fill the role. VF Corporation, the footwear and apparel brand’s parent company, announced Wednesday that Susie Mulder would take over as global brand president.

Mulder joins the brand after a nearly decade-long run as CEO of clothing brand NIC+ZOE. Her experience in the fashion industry was a draw for VF president and CEO Steve Rendle, who praised Mulder’s “broad mix of experience in apparel, retail, and consumer strategies” in a press release.

Mulder’s hiring fills a void at the position of global brand president. Jim Pisani served in the position for nearly four years, before stepping down in January 2020 to relocate to the Midwest. Since then, VF’s president of the EMEA region Martino Scabbia Guerrini filled the role in an interim capacity; Mulder will “partner closely” with Scabbia Guerrini during the transition period, according to the release.
