Don’t throw those old kicks away: resole them. Vibram is making it easy, fast, and affordable.
The maker of premium rubber products just launched the 2018 Sole Factor Tour with 50 dates in at least 15 states. The tour encourages customers to resole their favorite pair of worn-out shoes and give them a second life.
“Vibram’s Sole Factor program has many goals,” says Allon Cohne, chief marketing officer. “One is to encourage sustainability by bringing new life to a beloved pair of shoes, outfitting them with better performing, stylish outsoles. Another is to continue the art of the shoe cobbler and shoe repair for the next generation. And a third is to support the local businesses and communities we visit on tour.”
The 38-foot mobile unit will park at POWDR resorts in the West, Diamond Shop in Charlotte, Gold’s Gyms locations, select REI stores, and other outdoor industry events. Cobblers will resole the shoes right in front of customers’ eyes. The price depends on the chosen sole and location, and it could cost up to $40.
From sneakers to heavyweight hikers, virtually any pair can be resoled.
Customers can choose from a rainbow of colors and an array Vibram technologies—Arctic Grip, Megagrip, and other styles.
