Pitched by SheFly Apparel Co-Founders Charlotte Massey, Bianca Gonzalez, and Georgia Grace Edwards:
We’re revolutionizing women’s outdoor pants with a patent-pending zipper design that allows everyone—not just men—to “answer nature’s call” and pee outside without pulling their pants down. Because exposing yourself to relieve yourself outside isn’t pleasant.
We conducted a survey and found that a third of women have had a bathroom accident outside in the last year because they couldn’t get their pants down in time or couldn’t find a private place to go. Many women get bladder infections from holding it on the trail, or just stop spending time outside because it’s so cumbersome to pee.
No longer! Our SheFly zipper extends from below a typical pant fly around to the base of your back, so you can create a space big enough to answer nature’s call without pulling down your pants. The zipper is covered by a fabric flap so your new peeing superpower is a stealthy secret, and there’s a flap on the inside so your skin never touches the zipper. The design is also fully compatible with harnesses and the pockets are big enough to carry all your daily essentials—chapstick, wallet, phone, and feminist literature.
We work with Visible Clothing, a Fair Trade and Zero Waste clothing manufacturing facility in Dharmashala, India, in the foothills of the Himalaya. The pulp of excess fabric is then turned into notebooks.
Relieving yourself outdoors shouldn’t be such a problem. This simple and elegant solution just needed a team of women to figure it out. Preorder a pair for $128 here.
