With U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer of California preparing to re-introduce her California Wild Heritage Act of 2002, the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) asks mountain bikers to email U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, her California colleague, to request her help in preserving access to important trails. The bill proposed adding 2.5 million acres to California’s 14 million acres of federally designated Wilderness. While IMBA says it supports roughly half of the bill as written, numerous areas included in the bill conflict with significant mountain bicycling opportunities, and it wants mountain bikers to ask Feinstein to help bridge gaps to adjust the bill.
