For the Winter ispo show, Feb. 1-4, 2003, more than 1,500 exhibitors are signed up from more than 45 countries. The running show, new last summer, will also be a part of this winter show. At the fitness ispo, vendors will include Icon, Bremshey, Compex, Hammer Sport, Horizon, Icon, Kettler, Polar, Reebok and Simex. The Technical University of Munich Academic Challenge Awards will also be presented at the fitness show. The awards, sponsored by ispo, promote and support developments in sports technology. This international competition spotlights technical innovations in sports in the four categories: health, mass sports, top performance sports, and research. Prizes are awarded for new developments in sports equipment and materials, which combine innovations and systematic approaches with practical applications. In other ispo news, the event company has rolled out a new web site — www.ispo.com. Same address, but more functions. Plus all the different sport “communities” can be pulled up separately so they also have their own identity on the web. You can also choose one of several languages for it all. Look also for complete visitor information if you’re attending the show.
