The first European ski awards at the ispo trade show in Germany were awarded for Winter 2003 to Fischer, Dynastar, Atomic, Voelkl and Peak Performance–each in one of five categories.
Fischer earned top honors for its Soma Tec anatomical ski boot. Dynastar won in hardware for its Autodrive W System for women. Atomic took the prize as top binding for the Nexi EBM 412, the first electronic ski binding designed to help prevent accidents. Voelkl won for its touring ski called Norbert Joos in a “specials” category for a clip that keeps the climbing skins on the skies without impairing performance. For clothing, Peak Performance took kudos for its Trango ski jacket.
Judges were representatives for the ski industry, retail and trade media, plus ispo management and members of the ski federation.
