Julbo sunglasses for babies and kids

Sunglasses for children are often simply designed as grandma bait, with little or no focus on comfort for the child, let alone actual protection from the sun. But Julbo now has eight separate styles for different ages from toddlers to pre-teens. When our team got a look at the new Looping sunglasses by Julbo, designed for babies, we ordered up a set for our official junior test team – one Looping for our baby-products tester (until she gets too old) and one Peekaboo for a niece who is 9. Frankly, we weren’t sure what to expect, but what we got in feedback was nothing short of raves – yes, our baby tester allowed her parents speak for her.

Julbo Looping
Designed for babies up to the age of 1, the Looping features a symmetrical frame design so it no matter how baby or mom or dad puts it on, it is always right side up. Additionally, the sunglasses have no hinges and are incredibly flexible, making them darn-near impossible to break. SNEWS® World HQ’s test moose (pictured to the right) hasn’t been able to break his pair yet, and he’s hard on sunglasses, we assure you. The lenses block 95-percent of visible light, offering added protection to a baby’s sensitive eyes.

Our tester’s parents, experienced outdoors folk, told SNEWS®, that the Looping sunglasses were, “Great looking compared to most of the tacky kids glasses that are out there. We love the fact that they are symmetrical, love the fact that they provide REAL protection, and we love the way they stay on surprisingly well (kids of this age don’t have much of a nose for glasses to sit on). We were initially concerned with whether they would pinch the side of her head too much, because the arms cant inwards a lot, but they seem to be very comfortable (she isn’t trying to tear them off), and they don’t leave a mark. We’re impressed.”

Julbo Peekaboo
Looking very much like high-priced sunglasses her mom or dad wears, our 9-year-old tester – always a sunglass-ophile — was very excited with her test pair. Peekaboos, for ages 6-10, feature anti-glare coating on the back of the lens to minimize reflection and glare bouncing into the eyes. In addition the lenses are made of polycarbonate and offer scratch and break-resistance. Rubber inserts on the arms ensure the glasses will not come off easily, even when stretching your feet toward the sky while flying on the neighborhood park swings.

Her comments, in her own words, “I love the sunglasses, they fit great! I like the shape and they are not loose and the style is awesome.” When our tester told us that the downside to the glasses was that they “squish my eyelashes,” she added that even with that tick against them, she liked the Peekaboo and how they look so much she was wearing them anyway.
